Program Results

artsVest continues to significantly impact every community it enters. Since the introduction of the program in 2002, a total of 3,220 partnerships have been created between arts and business, of which 1,875 are long-term and 2,172 were first-time partnerships. 924 arts and cultural organizations have gone through training and secured matching funds through artsVest. A total of $5.44 million in matching funds generated over $13.51 million in private sector sponsorship for an overall investment impact of more than $18.95 million to the Canadian cultural economy.

artsVest™ B.C. Results


Our 2014-15 program saw 48 arts organization create 266 partnerships with local businesses in the communities of Kelowna, the Fraser Valley, Nanaimo and Gabriola Island, the North Okanagan and Thompson Nicola, the Cariboo Chilcotin and Prince George. 220 of these partnerships were first-time and 209 are projected to be long-term. These 48 arts organizations raised $774,075 in private sector sponsorship in just one year. Combined with matching funds of $296,164, this created a $1.07M impact on British Columbia’s cultural economy.

Since the introduction of the program province-wide in BC* in 2013 to 2015, 110 arts and cultural organizations have created a total of 496 partnerships between arts and business province-wide, of which 405 are long-term and 409 were first-time partnerships for the organizations. Matching funds of $562,500 generated over $1.8M in private sector sponsorship and resulted in an investment of $2.37M to the cultural economy.

artsVest™ Calgary Results


Since the introduction of the program in Calgary in 2011 to 2013, 26 arts and cultural organizations have created a total of 93 partnerships between arts and businesses city-wide, of which 25 were long-term and 64 were first-time partnerships for the organizations. Matching funds of $300,000 generated over $532,000 in private sector sponsorship and resulted in an investment of $833,000 to Calgary’s cultural economy.

artsVest™ Nova Scotia Results


Our 2014-15 program saw 34 arts organization create 73 partnerships with local businesses across the province of Nova Scotia. 54 of these partnerships were first-time and 60 are projected to be long-term. These 34 arts organizations raised $208,808 in private sector sponsorship in just one year. Combined with matching funds of $104,000, this created a $312,808 impact on Nova Scotia’s cultural economy.

Since the introduction of the program in Nova Scotia in 2013 to 2015, 54 arts and cultural organizations have created a total of 135 partnerships between arts and business province-wide, of which 120 are long-term and 90 were first-time partnerships for the organizations. Matching funds of $172,000 generated over $480,000 in private sector sponsorship and resulted in an investment of over $652,000 to the cultural economy.

artsVest Nova Scotia is delivered with funding support from the Government of Canada and the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage, in partnership with Arts Nova Scotia.


artsVest™ Ontario Results


Our 2015-16 program saw 45 arts and cultural organization create 156 partnerships with local businesses in the communities of Barrie, Brantford, Orangeville, Port Hope and Sudbury. 114 of these partnerships were first-time and 127 are projected to be long-term. These 45 arts organizations raised $408,694 in private sector sponsorship in just one year. Combined with matching funds of $170,054, this created a $578,748 impact on Ontario’s cultural economy.

Since the introduction of the program in Ontario in 2002 to 2016, 424 arts organizations have created 1,415 partnerships with businesses in 29 communities across the province. 958 of these partnerships were first time partnerships for the organizations. Matching funds of $2 million generated over $3.95 million in private sector sponsorship and resulted in an investment of over $5.95 million to the cultural economy.

artsVest™ Saskatchewan Results


Our 2014-15 program saw 47 arts organization create 157 partnerships with local businesses in Saskatoon, Regina and seven districts across Saskatchewan. 109 of these partnerships were first-time and 137 are projected to be long-term. These 47 arts organizations raised $1.18M in private sector sponsorship in just one year. Combined with matching funds of $364,844, this created a $1.54M investment on Saskatchewan’s cultural economy.

Since the introduction of the program in Saskatchewan in 2011 to 2015, 160 arts and cultural organizations have created  a total of 743 partnerships between 714 businesses province-wide, of which 438 were long-term and 475 were first-time partnerships for the organizations. Matching funds of $1.36M generated more than $4.03 million in private sector sponsorship and resulted in an investment of more than $5.39 million to the cultural economy.

artsVest Saskatchewan is delivered in Saskatchewan with funding from the Government of Canada and the Government of Saskatchewan Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport, and with support from SaskCulture Inc.


artsVest™ Toronto Results


Since the introduction of the program in Toronto in 2013 to 2015, 115 arts and cultural organizations have created a total of 255 partnerships between arts and business city-wide, of which 239 are long-term and 175 were first-time partnerships for the organizations. Matching funds of $660,000 generated over $2 million in private sector sponsorship and resulted in an investment of over $2.67 million to the cultural economy.

artsVest™ Vancouver Results


Since the introduction of the program in Vancouver in 2012 to 2013, 39 arts and cultural organizations have created a total of 118 partnerships, of which 25 were long-term and 69 were first-time partnerships for the organizations. Matching funds of $275,000 generated over $480,790 in private sector sponsorships and resulted in an investment of $755,790 to Vancouver’s cultural economy.

artsVest™ Winnipeg Results


Since the introduction of the program in Winnipeg in 2011 to 2013, 41 arts and cultural organizations have created a total of 121 partnerships between arts and businesses city-wide, of which 42 were long-term and 46 were first-time partnerships for the organizations. Matching funds of $280,398 generated more than $630,324 in private sector sponsorship and resulted in an investment of more than $910,000 to Winnipeg’s cultural economy.
