artsVest™ North Bay

Business for the Arts congratulates North Bay on being selected as one of five 2012 Ontario communities to receive the artsVest program and $25K in matching incentive funds!

The artsVest™ application process for 2012-2013 is now closed.

artsVest is a matching incentive and sponsorship training program, administered by Business for the Arts and funded by the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Trillium Foundation and Canadian Heritage, designed to stimulate business sponsorship and corporate engagement in arts and culture.  By training cultural organizations on how to generate partnerships with the private sector and providing matching incentive grants to spark business support of arts and culture, the program has contributed to healthy, prosperous and creative communities across Canada.

Elements of artsVest North Bay

Community Building
artsVest is a cross-sectoral initiative that is dedicated to building strong and lasting connections between the public, private and cultural sectors.

The artsVest North Bay Launch took place in May 2012 and celebrated North Bay’s success in securing the artsVest program, with local business leaders, municipal representatives and cultural organizations in attendance.

Sponsorship Training for Local Cultural Organizations
In May 2012, Business for the Arts held a free, full-day, intensive sponsorship training workshop for North Bay cultural organizations.  The workshop is an integral part of the artsVest program and guides participants step-by-step through securing and nurturing long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses.

Matching Incentive Grants
artsVest will provide North Bay with a total of $25,000 in matching incentive grants, which will translate into an influx of at least $50,000 to North Bay’s creative economy this year alone.

Each organization was invited to apply for a matching incentive grant from $500 to $5,000.

How to Participate in artsVest North Bay

How It Works
In the spring of 2012, eligible cultural organizations in North Bay were invited to apply to be pre-approved for matching funds in the amount of $500 to $5,000 by submitting a Pre-Approval Application Form.

Selected organizations were pre-approved for matching funds, which they will use to incentivize business sponsorship in their organization and secure business partnerships. The matching cheque will be issued only once sponsorships have been secured and a Sponsorship Confirmation Form is submitted.
