artsVest™ Winnipeg Eligibility

Eligibility for Cultural Organizations:

In order to apply to artsVest Winnipeg, organizations must:

  • Be registered as a non-profit corporation in Manitoba, and have operated as such for a minimum of one year
  • Be an organization that has as its primary mandate and core activity the creation, production, or presentation of the performing, visual, literary, film, video or media art
  • Be based and active in Winnipeg, and provide programming or services that are open to the public and publicized city-wide

Upon acceptance to the artsVest program, organizations will be required to attend a series of four clinics (September 5, 2012; October 10, 2012; November 7, 2012; and December 5, 2012).

Eligibility for Businesses:

There is no limit to the number of sponsorships that a business can have matched through artsVest, but only cash or goods-in-kind are eligible; professional services are not eligible for an artsVest match. To be eligible for artsVest matching funds, sponsorships must come from businesses which:

  • Are located in Winnipeg, whether publically-traded or privately owned; this includes owner-managed businesses, limited partnerships, local head offices, and regional offices of corporations located elsewhere
  • Must be a business, trade, or service club, or crown corporation


Participation in artsVest Winnipeg is not open to:

  • Organizations with budgets over $1 million
  • Individual artists
  • For-profit organizations
  • Health, social service, religious, or sports organizations
  • Educational institutions
  • Private club or community centre programs
